Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT)

As a manual therapist , I specialize in using a variety of techniques to treat my patients. My practice is based in particular on joint mobilizations and manipulations from orthopedic manual therapy (OMT) .

As part of my treatments, I often integrate orthopedic manual therapy with the mobilization and release of the myofascial chains . This combined approach aims to restore balance to the body's systems, thereby promoting optimal healing and recovery for my patients.

Exercises/Motor Control

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used by physiotherapists to treat certain types of muscle pain and movement disorders . During this procedure, the physiotherapist inserts a “dry” needle , that is to say without medication or injection , into specific points of tense or contracted muscles , often called “ trigger points . The goal of dry needling is to relieve pain and improve muscle function by releasing muscle tension , improving blood circulation , and stimulating the nervous system response . Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of muscle conditions , such as back, neck, shoulder, arm and leg pain , as well as headaches , chronic muscle pain and mobility disorders. . It is important to note that dry needling is different from acupuncture because it is based on an understanding of Western muscle physiology rather than the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Dry needling is part of modern Western medicine and is supported by scientific research.

To ensure continuity of progress between sessions, I provide my patients with personalized exercises. These exercises are designed to meet the specific needs of each patient, taking into account their condition and treatment goals. Exercise prescriptions typically include a combination of techniques focused on breathing, joint mobility, flexibility, and muscle strengthening. Emphasis is placed on precise execution of movements and prevention of any compensation during their performance.
